Dubai continues to strengthen its position on the global skyscraper map. Today, 4 out of the 10 tallest new buildings in the world are located in the emirate, reflecting both the scale and ambition of its urban development.

New generation skyscrapers in Dubai

New generation of skyscrapers.
Modern supertall projects are increasingly moving beyond a simple race for height and are becoming tools for rethinking urban space. A new generation of skyscrapers combines record-breaking dimensions with expanded infrastructure — observation decks, restaurants, swimming pools and public areas located at extreme heights. Alongside Dubai, China and several Middle Eastern countries remain among the most active markets for high-rise construction.

One of the most ambitious projects worldwide remains the Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia. With a planned height of 1,000 meters, it is set to become the first building in history to surpass the one-kilometer mark. Designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture — the firm behind Dubai’s Burj Khalifa — the tower is expected to feature more than 167 floors.

In Dubai, several high-rise projects currently under construction have the potential to rank among the tallest buildings in the world. The Burj Azizi, rising to 725 meters, is expected to become the world’s second-tallest skyscraper upon completion. Located near key business and tourism hubs, the tower will comprise 131 floors.

Another landmark project is Burj Binghatti Jacob & Co Residences in Business Bay, with a height of 595 meters. The residential skyscraper aims to claim the title of the tallest building in its segment globally, offering ultra-premium residences and an extended range of luxury services. Completion is scheduled for 2027.

The Tiger Sky Tower Dubai, reaching 532 meters, also stands out for its record-setting amenities, including the world’s highest infinity pool and restaurant. Construction began in 2024, with completion expected in 2028–2029.

The Six Senses Residences Dubai Marina project, at 517 meters, is set to become the tallest standalone residential tower in the world. Sales launched in 2024, with construction scheduled for completion in 2028.

Against the backdrop of global mega-projects — including Saudi Arabia’s linear city The Line and a number of supertall towers in China — Dubai continues to hold its status as one of the world’s key centers for high-rise development. The scale of these projects highlights sustained demand for premium real estate and a long-term strategy focused on reshaping the urban environment.
